American white oak
Hard, straight, stable. It takes a knock on the edge and shows it as a story, not a wound.
Sawn for grain
Quarter and rift sawn boards so the top moves less and the grain runs straight down the length.

Nine per cent moisture in our own kiln, slow, so it does not check or cup once it lands in your dry house.
Oiled, not lacquered
Hardwax oil soaks in rather than sitting on top. Repairs blend; lacquer chips.
